Jessica and Robert became high school sweethearts in Arizona. I’m a sucker for high school sweethearts as a gal who ended up marrying her best friend from high school. In one of Lord Huron songs, he asks “To the ends of the earth, would you follow me?” And indeed, Robert did when Jessica moved to Minnesota, where they live now. They found their dream venue at Paicines Ranch, located in the idyllic rolling grasslands and oak-studded landscapes of the golden state of California.
In March 2020, the family loaded in an RV and set sail on their road trip west for their wedding day. We all know what happened next as the pandemic struck, and the saddened family had to turn back around and head west. When life gives you covid-lemons though, you stop in Phoenix, Arizona at Robert’s families and get married in the desert.
A year later, and a long wait, these two and their family headed back west. This time, they were joined by their friends and family, and got to celebrate their one-year anniversary with a wedding celebration. And you know what, it was all worth the wait for an absolutely perfect day full of pure, bubbling love.
Divine details of soft blues and pops of green danced perfectly with the rustic barn vibe. The sky beamed a bright blue. After an incredibly sweet first look with Jessica’s dad at my favorite pepper tree, the ceremony was quickly upon us.
As Robert saw his stunning wife (and soon-to-be wife again!), his face shined with awe. Matt, decked out in his navy uniform, united the two with a beautiful speech. Flower petal confetti floated down on them as they bounded down the aisle.
We whisked them away for photos and had a blast throwing more confetti and popping champagne bottles next to the iconic Paicines Ranch silos. Louie Smokie Trails quenched the appetites we all worked up, followed by first dances that had us all grabbing our tissues. The dance floor heated up with some appearances by the Village People, or groomsmen doing a really good impersonation.
After a stunning sparkler exit, the two lovebirds sent the guests on their way and snuck back into the barn. There, they had one last dance completely alone. It was the ultimate cherry on top of a perfect wedding day.
Jessica and Robert, thank you for the honor of capturing your wedding celebration – It was worth the wait!
